LATEST CASES COMES AS GOVERNOR SAYS ALL NUMBERS COUNT GOING DOWN, BUT OVER HALF OF COUNTIES IN THE STATE ARE STILL IN THE RED POSITIVITY (INCLUDING LAWRENCE COUNTY)

While the numbers of new daily COVID-19 cases are going down across Kentucky, new cases are still churning at a higher pace, with for the second Thursday in row of new positive coronavirus cases reported for the three day period of Monday to Thursday were higher than reported new cases count for the four day period of Thursday to Monday.
There were forty-three (43) new COVID-19 cases in Lawrence County for October 19-21, 2021. Seven (7) of those new cases were individuals who had been fully vaccinated and were breakthrough cases. One (1) person also had to be hospitalized.
The age range of the new cases were from a ten (10) month old infant to a 75 year old person
On Monday, October 18, there were thirteen (13) new COVID-19 cases in Lawrence County for October 15-18, 2021. Four (4) had been fully vaccinated and were breakthrough cases, and one (1) also had to be hospitalized. The age range was from a 14 year old person to a 66 year old person.
For the comparison of last week’s numbers, on Monday, October 11, there were twenty-nine (29) new COVID-19 cases in Lawrence County for October 8-11, 2021. Six (6) had been fully vaccinated and were breakthrough cases. One (1) was hospitalized. Their age range of the 29 cases was from 6 year old to 85 year old. The county recorded its 40th death. On Thursday October 14, there were forty-four (44) new COVID-19 cases in Lawrence County for October 12-14, 2021. Ten (10) had been fully vaccinated and were breakthrough cases, cases; and one (1) was hospitalized. The age range was an eight (8) month old infant to a ninety-seven (97) year old person.
As of Thursday evening, October 21, the total confirmed positive cases in Lawrence County since the start of the COVI-19 pandemic is 2,599, of which 2,496 have recovered. There are currently 63 active cases, and the number of total deaths in the county stands at 40.
GOVERNOR PROCLAIMS PANDEMIC NUMBERS ARE GREATLY IMPROVING, BUT OVER HALF THE STATE STILL IN THE RED
At his Thursday, October 21 press conference in Frankfort,Ky., Governor Andrew Beshear pronounced that the positivity rate continues to decrease in his latest COVID-19 update.
In his latest report, the Governor announced 1,796 new COVID-19 cases across the Commonwealth on Thursday, bringing the case total to 732,518.
490 of the new cases were children 18 and younger. 1,092 Kentuckians remain hospitalized. 328 people remain in the ICU, with 199 on a ventilator.
The state’s positivity rate now sits at 6.53%.
The Governor also announced 53 new COVID-19 deaths on Thursday, bringing the statewide total to 9,530.
64 counties across the state are currently in the red zone on the state’s COVID-19 incidence rate map which provides a rolling seven day average of coronavirus cases per 100,000 people.
Lawrence County’s current incidence rate is at 42.9 per 100,000; which is currently the fourth highest in eastern Kentucky. But of the six (6)counties in the state that are in the yellow color on the map, five (5) are neighboring counties, which are Elliott county, Morgan County, Menifee County, Montgomery County, and Fleming County
Everyone I know that has gotten covid lately, has been fully vaccinated. I guess if they hadn’t been vaccinated, it may have been harder on them. I don’t know. I have mixed feeling about this vaccine that we really know little about.
I moved away from Lawrence county a few years ago. Everyone I know is vaccinated and I don’t know a single person who had died or know of a single person who has had anyone die of covid.
Friends from Lawrence county though tell me they know many people who have died of covid. This isn’t rocket science and if it were you’re not a rocket scientist, you’re not a medical researcher either. Get your shots
