Corey Douglas Ryland was born on August 6th, 1980 and died on March 7th, 2015 of an unexpected, untimely death. He was the son of Doug Ryland of Louisa, Ky. and Luann Thompson of Ft. Gay, WV. He is survived by his son, Braxton Ryland and grandmother, Ellie Patton, Aunt Dianna (Rick) Sammons, Siblings Chelsee Short, Chandler Thompson, Carrie Woods and Ryan Sammons. He left behind several very special friends, but two that he considered his brothers Dougie Ison and Andy Woods.
Corey was a life long resident of Louisa. He played baseball all throughout school, from grade school to high school. He continued his time on the diamond playing men’s softball for the Good Ol’ Boys, a local men’s team until his death. His teammates and family created this tournament to help pay for his funeral costs and to provide a headstone. All proceeds from this tournament will go to the Corey Ryland Memorial Fund.
Anyone wishing to donate may do so at the Louisa Community Bank in Louisa, Kentucky. Everyone come out and enjoy the day, remembering a special man and the memories he shared with so many.
