THIS YEAR'S PARADE FEATURED NOT ONE BUT TWO MARCHING BANDS AS TOLSIA HIGH JOINED IN THE FESTIVITIES

“The Best Little Festival In Kentucky” has once again come and gone. With the hot weather and even rain, people came from all around the area to get a part of Septemberfest, they had fried “anything” from funnel cakes to blooming onions, or just about anything you could imagine, they had fried. The Rotary hash and freshly squeezed lemonade had people standing in line to get their taste of Septemberfest.

The kids rode the several carnival rides, watched the parade, even seeing some super heroes. The music was amazing with several local bands and names like Marty Brown, and the headliner Craig Wayne Boyd that is best known for being the season 7 winner of the Voice. He was late coming to the stage due to the rain, but that didn’t detour the fans, they sat in the rain finding shelter where they could and waited it out. He ended his performance with a perfect rendition of  “The Old Rugged Cross”, afterwards signing autographs and taking pictures with anyone that wanted to wait.

Overall it was a great success and no doubt 2016 Septemberfest will be hard to beat!

Louisa mayor harold Slone said the festival was down some this year in attendance but still declared it a success. Here is what he had to say.

Ralph Stanley II and his band played Saturday at the festival.

MAYOR SLONE COMMENTS ON 2016 SEPTEMBERFEST

“… I feel overall the festival was a success”

“ The crowd was down a little, probably due to the heat and economy but overall still a very good turnout” “ The entertainment was great. 7 Bridges, An Eagles Tribute Band was absolutely amazing and Craig Wayne Boyd was a very strong country performance after battling rain”. “ Some of the most popular entertainment was from the bluegrass acts in Main Street Park where Zach Wright, Po Rambling Boys, and Ralph Stanley II” played for a park full of dedicated fans” “ The carnival had the biggest rides this year and some brand new to the festival”.

“ Arts and Crafts tent was full with some extra spilling over into the park”.

“ Septemberfest is like a town reunion, so many people that have moved away come home to visit. Many family and class reunions take place during the festival”

“ The committee says they are planning early for the 30th annual Septemberfest next year with a goal of bring the biggest festival yet.”
