LCHS CLASS OF 2016
The latest National Data shows that more students are getting their high-school diplomas than ever before. Just over 82% of the students who were high-school seniors during the 2013-14 year graduated, up from 81% the year before. The rate has inched up annually over the last few years, largely because of strides made by disadvantaged students according to the statistics released by the Chicago Tribune.
Lawrence County held their graduation on Friday, May 20 at 7:00pm with 126 students graduating. The future looks bright for this class, and from the Levisa Lazer, We salute the Lawrence County Class of 2016! A quote from Alayna Gee Gauzes speech, which is also the class motto was,
“I am somebody, I was somebody when I came. I’ll be a better somebody when I leave. I am powerful and I am strong. I deserve the education that I get here. I have things to do, people to impress, and places to go. So heres to the class of 2016 and the bright futures we hold.”
