LAWRENCE COUNTY ARREST LIST – APRIL 4 – 11, 2017

APRIL 11, 2017 – written by WADE QUEEN

15 ARRESTS IN LAWRENCE COUNTY IN THE LAST EIGHT DAYS, COMPARED TO 9 ARRESTS IN THE PREVIOUS NINE DAYS. PLUS ONE LAWRENCE RESIDENT WAS ARRESTED IN JOHNSON COUNTY.

THERE HAVE BEEN AT LEAST 111 ARRESTS BROUGHT AND BOOKED AT THE BIG SANDY REGIONAL DETENTION CENTER IN PAINTSVILLE IN THE FIRST 11 DAYS OF APRIL. ONLY 3 OUT OF THOSE 11 DAYS WERE THERE MORE THAN 9 ARRESTS TOTAL IN THE MULTIPLE COUNTIES THAT USE THE JAIL. AND THIS PAST WEEKEND THE NUMBER OF ARRESTS HIT THE FLOOR, WITH ONLY 8 ARRESTS TOTAL IN THOSE 2 DAYS ACROSS THE LOCAL REGION (5 ON SATURDAY, 3 ON SUNDAY).

THE LOW NUMBER OF ARRESTS IT IS CONNECTED TO THE CONTINUING EFFORT TO BRING THE MASSIVE OVERCROWDING AT THE BSRDC OF THE LAST SEVERAL WEEKS. IT IS SLOWLY BUT SURELY COMING DOWN, FROM THE INSANELY HIGH 288 INMATES OVER THE LAST WEEKEND OF MARCH TO AS OF 11:59 P.M. TUESDAY APRIL 11 A TOTAL OF 255 INMATES. BESIDE THE REDUCE ARREST TOTALS, THE JAIL INMATE POPULATION COUNT REDUCTION IS ALSO BEING HELPED BY NEW AND RECENTLY BOOKED INDIVIDUALS NOW BEING GIVEN BOND MORE QUICKLY.
